A Month After...

It has been 30 days, 720 hours, and countless painful and difficult minutes to get to where I am.

And here I am – celebrating a month since the total replacement of my right knee, one of the most invasive and demanding surgeries. But I had no choice; over the years, I had exhausted all the alternatives, and it was time.

During this ordeal, I have spent a great deal of time writing, reading, meditating, understanding, and appreciating the process of healing, even embracing pain to become whole again. I have let go of fear. It is corrosive. With freedom from fear, I am in control of my destiny.

I am looking forward to my next chapter- to low impact walks, to be able to dance, to walk up and down the stairs, to travel by plane despite the discomfort of narrow seating arrangements, unless I can fly first class, of course. 😊

More importantly, I took a challenging step to live a better, healthier, more fulfilling life. I am so happy and proud of my decision. The future is looking brighter than ever!
